NCC supports executive order on Medicare

In response to a request for feedback on scope of practice issues, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) wrote to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma to support Section 5 of President Trump’s Executive Order Protecting and Improving Medicare for Our Nation’s Seniors. The letter, signed by AONL, praises the administration’s efforts to reduce barriers to care delivered by advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), specifically citing the federal decision to authorize APRNs and physician assistants to provide medication-assisted opioid treatment. The coalition would like the administration to build on these efforts by removing physician-supervision requirements; authorizing APRNS to certify patient eligibility for home health services; and ending reimbursement disparities.
