Policy change to CNML and CENP certification exam retake
Effective Jan. 15, 2021, candidates who receive an unsuccessful result on a CENP® or CNML® certification exam have the opportunity to retake the examination at a future date. Candidates can retake the exam no sooner than 90 days after their most recent exam date. An application will be available after the 90 days have passed. Candidates may apply for and take the same certification exam up to 3 times in a 12-month period. Review the complete policy.

AONL offers a review course for the CNML exam. The review course will cover case studies, simulation learning and a discounted practice test. Participants of the review course can earn continuing education credits when they successfully complete the course.
On March 2016, the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) granted accreditation to the American Organization of Nurse Executives Credentialing Center (AONE-CC) for demonstrating compliance with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The NCCA Standards were created in 1977 and updated in 2003 to ensure certification programs adhere to modern standards of practice for the certification industry. AONE-CC joins an elite group of more than 120 organizations representing over 270 programs that have received and maintained NCCA accreditation.
