Pennsylvania enacts Nurse Licensure Compact

On July 1, Pennsylvania became the 37th jurisdiction to enact the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) when Gov. Tom Wolf signed the NLC into law. The compact allows RNs and licensed practical/vocational nurses to have one multistate license, with the ability to practice in person or via telehealth, in both the primary state of residence and other NLC jurisdictions. The state must complete an implementation process before Pennsylvania nurses will be able to apply for a multistate license and before nurses in other NLC states who hold a multistate license will be able to practice in Pennsylvania.
