NCC submits testimony on FY 2025 nursing funding

AONL was one of 58 members of Nursing Community Coalition to sign onto testimony submitted to the Senate and House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies. They request at least $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and $210 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research in fiscal year 2025. Citing increased demand for nurses, burnout, and lack of space in nursing schools to accommodate all qualified students, the NCC says the historic funding is necessary to ensure the workforce is prepared to address health care needs and develop evidence-based practice for patient care. Last week, 86 representatives signed a bipartisan “Dear Colleague” letter requesting $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs. (NCC House testimony, 5/3/24)
