NCC commends House passage of minibus bill

In a July 29 letter, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) commended the House of Representatives for passing H.R. 4502, a seven-bill appropriations package. This minibus legislation provided unprecedented increases to key programs affecting nursing education, practice and research. The $314 million appropriation for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs includes a $50 million, or nearly 19%, increase in spending levels over fiscal year 2021. The $201 million appropriation for the National Institute of Nursing Research includes a nearly $26 million, or 14.7%, increase over the previous fiscal year. AONL is one of 63 national nursing organizations that make up the NCC. (NCC letter, 7/29/21)
