Joint Commission releases mental health public education campaign

The Joint Commission released Speak Up For Your Mental Health to help people understand the signs and symptoms of mental illness. The public health education campaign includes information about how people can receive help and advocate for their care. The campaign offers various ways to receive help through a physician, counselor, psychologist, social worker or therapist, as well as specific questions to ask a provider. The materials include an infographic in English and Spanish, an animated video and distribution guide to help health care organizations disseminate the information to patients. The materials are free to reproduce and disseminate if credited to the Joint Commission. (Joint Commission news release, 5/17/23)
