Initiative prevents pressure injuries

A New York hospital reduced the incidence of medical device-related pressure injuries following a tracheostomy to zero for four years, according to a study. Published in Advanced Critical Care, the authors explain how New York-Presbyterian Westchester, Bronxville, achieved the results in its 18-bed intensive care unit by using evidence-based resources from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Preventing Pressure Injuries toolkit.
