HHS to offer awards for facilities treating long COVID-19

The Department of Health and Human Services will award $9 million in grants to clinics to help people with long COVID-19. The awards will support multidisciplinary long COVID clinics providing comprehensive, coordinated and person-centered care, particularly for underserved, rural, vulnerable, or minority populations disproportionately affected by long COVID. Existing clinics can use the funding to develop and implement new or improved care delivery models, expand access and services offered, strengthen care coordination, and support primary care practitioners with education and management. The HHS will fund nine awards of up to $1 million each annually for up to five years. The deadline to apply is June 12. (AHRQ news release, 4/11/23)
