Guide offers tips to help nurses implement innovations

Health care provider organizations can play an important role in helping nurses to implement their innovations, according to an article in the July issue of Nursing 2022. Facility-based programs ─ including in-house models for innovation programs and partnerships for joint development ventures and new startup companies ─ can support nurses who have ideas and concepts they would like to develop. In addition, health care facilities can provide innovators with a documented form to describe the innovation, creating a formal timestamp for intellectual assets. They can offer internal resources to aid innovators, provide mentors, and assist with market analysis, the authors note. This help, including help with prototyping and vendor contracts, can be provided in return for sharing a percentage of the branding and financial return with the innovator.
