AONL podcast explores rural hospital partnerships

AONL this week released a podcast exploring how rural health care facilities can develop strong relationships with a regional partner to continue operating. The session explains how the regional partner can help ensure success by introducing methods used to collaborate, including educational support, clinical touchpoints and routine meetings. Separately, a recent Commonwealth Fund study published in JAMA Network Open found health disparities between rural and urban residents in the U.S. are greater than between rural and urban residents of 10 other developed nations. The researchers looked at data of urban and rural participants collected by the Commonwealth Fund for its 2020 survey of 11 advanced nations, evaluating 10 indicators in these areas: health status and socioeconomic risk factors, affordability of care and access to care.
