Nurse-led startup develops night light for bedside care

A pair of nurses who met at a nursing hackathon created a wearable LED light that illuminates workspaces, so nurses don’t have to choose between disrupting patient sleep by turning on overhead light or doing their work in the dark. The light has three settings: a dim white light for reading and preparing medications; a red light that allows night vision; and a bright blue light designed to increase cognitive function and minimize human error. The inventors have partnered with Medline to make the light available to front-line nurses. (HealthLeaders Media article, 2/3/22)
