Nurse executive details operation of hospital-at-home model

The hospital-at-home model of care is detailed in the March issue of Voice of Nursing Leadership. At Adventist Health, a medical command center staffed with physicians and nurses provides acute medical care management to allow patients to recuperate in their own homes following hospitalization. AONL member Lesa McArdle, DNP, RN, hospital-at-home director of operations for Adventist Health, explains the launch of the care model. The integrated health care system, which serves patients in California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington, started its hospital-at-home program in 2020.
