Digitally enabled environments will redefine care delivery

“Integrating technology into care delivery models is one way to amplify nurses’ work in a safe and consistent manner and should be accelerated for care delivery,” writes AONL member Bonnie Clipper, DNP, RN, in the April issue of Nurse Leader. She argues the workforce alone cannot meet the demands of patient care in today’s environment. She calls on nurses to lead the transformation of care delivery by leveraging technology to support nurse decision-making and streamline workflows. Robots, remote patient monitoring, ambient computer vision and predictive analytics are among the tools she believes can help provide a safer practice environment. Clipper is chief clinical officer at Wambi in Austin, Texas.
