Dr. Peter Buerhaus

Dr. Buerhaus, RN, FAAN, FAANP(h), is a nurse and a healthcare economist who is well known for his studies on the nursing and physician workforces in the United States. He is currently a Professor of Nursing (Emeritus) at Montana State University. Before coming to Montana State University, Dr. Buerhaus was the Valere Potter Distinguished Professor of Nursing and Sr. Associate Dean for Research at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Professor of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University, and assistant professor of health policy and management at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Buerhaus has published 180 peer-reviewed articles focused on issues affecting the nursing and physician workforces, with five publications designated as “Classics” by the Federal Government’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Buerhaus was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 1994, elected into the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine in 2003 (now the National Academy of Medicine), and is an honorary Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He recently served as a member of the National Academy of Sciences National Academy of Medicine Committee on the Future of Nursing, 2020-2030.

Today, Zipline completes a commercial delivery every 70 seconds, serves more than 4,000 health facilities, and partners with companies such as Walmart, Toyota, Sweetgreen, GNC, OhioHealth, Cleveland Clinic, Intermountain Health, Pfizer, MultiCare Health System, and many national governments. 

Zipline has raised ~$1b from private investors such as Sequoia, A16Z, Valor, and Fidelity. Before starting the company, Keller was a professional rock climber and built computers made of DNA as an undergraduate at Harvard.

Dr. Rose Sherman

Dr. Rose Sherman, Ed.D, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, is nationally known for her work in helping current and future nurse leaders develop their leadership skills. Rose is an emeritus professor at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, and currently serves as a faculty member in the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nursing Leadership Academy at Case Western Reserve University. Before teaching, Rose had a 25 year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs where she held leadership positions at five major VA Medical Centers.

Rose is the Editor of Nurse Leader, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership’s official journal.  She is the author of two bestselling nursing leadership books, The Nuts and Bolts of Nursing Leadership: Your Toolkit for Success and The Nurse Leader Coach: Become the Boss that No One Wants to Leave.  Rose is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellowship program.  She is a Gallup certified strengths coach.  In 2018, Rose received the Nurse Researcher of the Year award from the AONL Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research and Education.
