AONE Announces 2018 Membership Awards

The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) today announced the recipients of its 2018 recognition awards, which highlight AONE members, a hospital, and a state affiliate who demonstrated the “best of the best” in leadership practice, and whose work sets an example for every nurse leader. AONE will honor the recipients this week during its Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.

Mercy Medical Center to Receive AONE Prism Diversity Award  
The AONE Prism Diversity Award recognizes an individual or organization that has advanced diversity efforts within the nursing profession, the community or organization. Founded in 1874 by the Sisters of Mercy in Baltimore, Mercy Medical Center is a university-affiliated medical facility with a national reputation for women’s health care. The award is sponsored by American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Glenn D. Pascual to Receive AONE Mentor Award
The AONE Mentor Award recognizes a nurse in executive practice who has been exemplary in supporting the professional development of his or her colleagues by serving as a mentor or advisor. Glenn D. Pascual, RN, is director of operations and hospital service at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center in California.

Brandon “Kit” Bredimus to Receive the Pamela Austin Thompson Early Careerist Award
The early careerist award, named after AONE CEO Emeritus Pamela Austin Thompson, recognizes an AONE or AONE Foundation program alumnus who exhibits significant potential as a future health care leader and demonstrates exemplary leadership within his or her organization, community and the nursing profession. Brandon “Kit” Bredimus, RN, is director of emergency services at Midland Memorial Hospital in Texas.

Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders to Receive AONE Affiliate Achievement Award
The AONE Affiliate Achievement Award recognizes an AONE affiliate that promotes nursing leadership and its influence in advancing nursing practice, patient safety, quality, recruitment and retention and serves as a model for other states or regions with similar interests.
