Senate hearing considers U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act

The Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee this week hosted a hearing to review the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2021. The bill recognizes almost 120,000 corps members who cared for servicemen and women during World War II. The act also designates honorable veteran status to those who served and provides a service medal and burial plaque or grave marker. In a Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) letter, AONL joined 51 other nursing organizations urging the committee to support the bill’s passage.
